Corona Virus Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, during your earthly ministry, at your command, the sick were made well. Come to our aid now in the midst of the global spread of the corona virus, that we may experience your healing love.

Give leaders of nations and communities the foresight to act with charity and true concern for the well-being of the people they are meant to serve. Give them the wisdom to invest in long-term solutions that will help prepare for or prevent future outbreaks.

Grant to all peoples the grace to respect the measures suggested that may curtail the spread of this virus.

We ask this in your Holy name. Amen

ENTRANCE ANTIPHON:

Give peace, O Lord, to those who wait for you, that your prophets be found true. Hear the prayers of your servant, and of your people Israel.

FIRST READING: Sirach 27:30-28:7.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM: Psalm 103.

RESPONSE: The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and rich in mercy.

  1. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all within me, his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and never forget all his benefits. ℟

  2. It is the Lord who forgives all your sins, who heals every one of your ills, who redeems your life from the grave, who crowns you with mercy and compassion. ℟

  3. He will not always find fault; nor persist in his anger forever. He does not treat us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our faults. ℟

  4. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so strong his mercy for those who fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far from us does he remove our transgressions. ℟

SECOND READING: Romans 14:7-9.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION: Alleluia, alleluia! A new commandment I give to you, says the Lord, that you love one another, even as I have loved you. Alleluia.

GOSPEL: Matthew 18:21-35.

SPIRITUAL COMMUNION PRAYER: My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You in my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

COMMUNION ANTIPHON: How precious is your mercy, O God! The children of men seek shelter in the shadow of your wings.
