ENTRANCE ANTIPHON: The shepherds went in haste, and found Mary and Joseph and the Infant lying in a manger.
FIRST READING: Genesis 15:1-6; 21:1-3.
RESPONSORIAL PSALM: Psalm 105.
RESPONSE: He, the Lord, is our God; he remembers his covenant forever.
1. Give thanks to the Lord; proclaim his name. Make known his deeds among the peoples. O sing to him, sing his praise; tell all his wonderful works! ℟
2. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts that seek the Lord rejoice. Turn to the Lord and his strength; constantly seek his face. ℟
3. Remember the wonders he has done, his marvels and his words of judgement. O children of Abraham, his servant, O descendants of the Jacob he chose. ℟
4. He remembers his covenant forever; the promise he ordained for a thousand generations, the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac. ℟
SECOND READING: Hebrews11:8,11-12,17-19.
GOSPEL ACCLAMATION: Alleluia, alleluia! In many and various ways God spoke of old to our fathers by the prophets; but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son. Alleluia.
GOSPEL: Luke 2:22-40.
SPIRITUAL COMMUNION PRAYER:
My Jesus,
I believe that you are present
in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You in my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.
COMMUNION ANTIPHON: Our God has appeared on the earth, and lived among us
