ENTRANCE ANTIPHON:

O sing a new song to the Lord; sing to the Lord, all the earth.

In his presence are majesty and splendour, strength and honour in his holy place.

FIRST READING: Nehemiah 8:2-4, 5-6, 8-10.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM: Psalm 19.

RESPONSE: Your words, O Lord, are Spirit and life.

1. The law of the Lord is perfect;

it revives the soul.

The decrees of the Lord are steadfast;

they give wisdom to the simple. ℟

2. The precepts of the Lord are right;

they gladden the heart.

The command of the Lord is clear;

it gives light to the eyes. ℟

3. The fear of the Lord is pure,

abiding forever.

The judgements of the Lord are true;

they are, all of them, just. ℟

4. May the spoken words of my mouth,

the thoughts of my heart,

win favour in your sight, O Lord,

my rock and my redeemer! ℟

SECOND READING: 1 Corinthians 12:12-30.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION:

Alleluia, alleluia.

The Lord has sent me to preach good news to the poor,

to proclaim release to the captives.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL: Luke 1:1-4; 4:14-21.

COMMUNION ANTIPHON:

Look towards the Lord and be radiant;

let your faces not be abashed.

SPIRITUAL COMMUNION PRAYER:

My Jesus,

I believe that you are present

in the Most Holy Sacrament.

I love You above all things,

and I desire to receive You in my soul.

Since I cannot at this moment

receive You sacramentally,

come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were already there

and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.
