ENTRANCE ANTIPHON: All the earth shall bow down before you, O God, and shall sing to you, shall sing to your name, O Most High!

FIRST READING: 1 Samuel 3:3-10,19.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM: Psalm 40.

RESPONSE: See, I have come, Lord, to do your will.

1. I waited, I waited for the Lord, and he stooped down to me; he heard my cry. He put a new song into my mouth, praise of our God. ℟

2. You delight not in sacrifice and offerings, but in an open ear. You do not ask for holocaust and victim. Then I said, ‘See, I have come.’ ℟

3. In the scroll of the book it stands written of me: ‘I delight to do your will, O my God; your instruction lies deep within me.’ ℟

4. Your justice I have proclaimed in the great assembly. My lips I have not sealed; you know it, O Lord. ℟

SECOND READING: 1 Corinthians 6:13-15,17-20.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION:

Alleluia, alleluia! We have found the Messiah, who is Christ; grace and truth came through him. Alleluia.

GOSPEL: John 1:35-42.

SPIRITUAL COMMUNION PRAYER:

My Jesus,

I believe that you are present

in the Most Holy Sacrament.

I love You above all things,

and I desire to receive You in my soul.

Since I cannot at this moment

receive You sacramentally,

come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were already there

and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

COMMUNION ANTIPHON: You have prepared a table before me, and how precious is the chalice that quenches my thirst.
