ENTRANCE ANTIPHON:

Of you my heart has spoken. Seek his face. It is your face, O Lord, that I seek; hide not your face from me.

FIRST READING:

Genesis 22:1-2, 9, 10-13, 15-18.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM: Psalm 116.

RESPONSE:

I will walk in the presence of the Lord in the land of the living.

1. I trusted, even when I said, ‘I am sorely afflicted’. How precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his faithful. ℟

2. Your servant, Lord, your servant am I, the son of your handmaid; you have loosened my bonds. A thanksgiving sacrifice I make; I will call on the name of the Lord. ℟

3. My vows to the Lord I will fulfil before all his people, in the courts of the house of the Lord, in your midst, O Jerusalem. ℟

SECOND READING: Romans 8:31-34.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION:

Glory and praise to you, O Christ. From the shining cloud the Father’s voice is heard: this is my beloved Son, hear him. Glory and praise to you, O Christ.

GOSPEL: Mark 9:2-10.

SPIRITUAL COMMUNION PRAYER:

My Jesus,

I believe that you are present

in the Most Holy Sacrament.

I love You above all things,

and I desire to receive You in my soul.

Since I cannot at this moment

receive You sacramentally,

come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were already there

and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

COMMUNION ANTIPHON:

This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.
