ENTRANCE ANTIPHON: To you I call; for you will surely heed me, O God; turn your ear to me; hear my words. Guard me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.

FIRST READING: Isaiah 45:1, 4-6.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM: Psalm 96.

RESPONSE: Give the Lord glory and power.

  1. O sing a new song to the Lord; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Tell among the nations his glory, and his wonders among all the peoples. ℟

  2. For the Lord is great and highly to be praised, to be feared above all gods. For the gods of the nations are naught. It was the Lord who made the heavens. ℟

  3. Give the Lord, you families of peoples, give the Lord glory and power; give the Lord the glory of his name. Bring an offering and enter his courts. ℟

  4. Worship the Lord in holy splendour. O tremble before him, all the earth. Say to the nations, ‘The Lord is king’. He will judge the peoples in fairness. ℟

SECOND READING: 1 Thessalonians 1:1-5.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION: Alleluia, alleluia! You will shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life. Alleluia.

GOSPEL: Matthew 22:15-21.

SPIRITUAL COMMUNION PRAYER: My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You in my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

COMMUNION ANTIPHON: Behold, the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, who hope in his merciful love, to rescue their souls from death, to keep them alive in famine.
