ENTRANCE ANTIPHON:
O God, come to my assistance; O Lord, make haste to help me!
You are my rescuer, my help; O Lord, do not delay.
FIRST READING:
Exodus 16:2-4, 12-15.
RESPONSORIAL PSALM: Psalm 78.
RESPONSE: The Lord gave them bread from heaven.
1. The things we have heard and understood,
the things our fathers have told us,
we will tell them to the next generation;
the glories of the Lord and his might. ℟
2. Yet he commanded the clouds above,
and opened the gates of heaven.
He rained down manna to eat,
and gave them bread from heaven. ℟
3. Man ate the bread of angels.
He sent them abundance of food.
So he brought them to his holy land,
to the mountain his right hand had won. ℟
SECOND READING:
Ephesians 4:17, 20-24.
GOSPEL ACCLAMATION:
Alleluia, alleluia!
Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
Alleluia.
GOSPEL: John 6:24-35.
SPIRITUAL COMMUNION PRAYER:
My Jesus,
I believe that you are present
in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You in my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.
COMMUNION ANTIPHON:
You have given us, O Lord, bread from heaven,
endowed with all delights and sweetness in every taste.
