AS THE NUMBER OF COVID-19 cases escalates in our Province, we are conscience-bound as individuals and as Church to follow the suggested means to the utmost of our ability to limit the spread of this virus. Wear masks, wash your hands regularly, maintain social-distancing and avail yourselves of the vaccination. Misinformation about the vaccine abounds, it is better to have the prevention than to struggle to find a cure.
Just a reminder that CATECHISM CLASSES are ongoing online. Please ensure that your young people attend these online classes so as to keep up to date with the information given; particularly those wishing to make their First Confession and receive their First Communion later this year and Confirmation next year. Attendance is a non-negotiable.
THE GUILD OF OUR LADY OF MERCY, and those who have benefitted from her magnanimity, thank Barbara Gill for sharing her talents and time. Though no longer able to make up to 30 little dresses a month, now, at the age of 92, has gifted some 1009 knitted ‘beanies’ for the less fortunate.
THANKS FROM FR. DERRICK To Father James and all the parishioners for your prayers, wishes and gifts. God bless you for your support and gifts.
THE YEAR OF THE EUCHARIST In celebration of the Year of the Eucharist, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed in the church at Blessed Sacrament every Friday afternoon from 16h00–17h00 (with the exception of public holidays) until September 10, 2021.
PARISH COLLECTION:
In addition to the weekly collection contributions may also be made by EFT to the Parish of the Blessed Sacrament, First National Bank, account no: 50844547792, branch code 22 14 26.
CORONA VIRUS PRAYER.
Lord Jesus Christ, during your earthly ministry, at your command, the sick were made well. Come to our aid now in the midst of the global pandemic, that we may experience your healing love.
Give leaders of nations and communities the foresight to act with charity and true concern for the well-being of the people they are meant to serve. Give them the wisdom to invest in long-term solutions that will help prepare for or prevent future outbreaks.
Grant health, strength and courage to doctors, nurses and all healthcare workers, and to all peoples the grace to respect the measures suggested that may curtail the spread of this virus. We ask this in your Holy name. Amen.
