The GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP is branching out!
In these days of uncertainty, many are living in some form of isolation which often serves to aggravate any trial or challenge, whether this be illness, anxiety, loneliness, financial or work difficulties, separation from Mass and the Sacraments, and even separation from loved ones or even through death.
The inevitable burden of these griefs can often be lightened through sharing in any number of ways such as within our parish Grief Support Group which is an active and warmly empathetic group of ladies and men who have been meeting for a number of years to provide opportunity for anyone who would like to share in the outreach of friends to help alleviate any burden weighing on anyone in our parish community.
During Covid-19 lockdown, members have been keeping in touch on line or by Whatsapp group on any number of topics and through their love, understanding and empathy, have generated a warmth and sharing beyond expectation.
A sincere and warm invitation is extended to anyone who may wish without obligation, other than confidentiality, to share a problem or any similar issue to lighten the day and also to make the acquaintance of parishioners of whom you may have been sharing the Sacraments.
If you are interested to key into the Whatapp group, even if only for the lockdown period, you will be warmly welcomed.
Just phone Carol Haramis at 083 7360 702 or Lizzy Payne at +44 7831 252 314 – look forward to hearing from you.
The RCIA program
The RCIA program provides for anyone who is interested in joining the Catholic faith or those who may have missed out on any of the sacraments. Unfortunately, we were not able to start the course for 2020 before the lockdown hit us. Nevertheless, it is never too late and we are keen to launch an online program in the parish as soon as possible.
There are two main requirements for us: Participants and team members. SO – if you are interested in joining the course, please contact either Fr James at the parish office or Dc Mike at 0823715547. Then, if you have any experience in running/leading a RCIA course, please contact us as well. The material is all prepared and we will be at your side all the way. This is an amazing program and many in the parish will attest to its value and impact in their lives.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Mass Helpers
Fr James has appealed for parishioners to help with sanitising the interior of the church buildings after each Mass once we resume. The response is encouraging, especially in view of the lockdown conditions having been relaxed, but we still need more willing helpers PLEASE. It is not an onerous task and will just take a few minutes after the Mass that you attend. The response to this appeal will directly affect the number of Masses that we can offer. Please contact the parish office any morning if you are able to help. Thank you.
Our next Zoom chat – Thursday 7.30pm
Our next Zoom chat is scheduled for this coming Thursday evening at 7.30pm. All are welcome. If this time does not suit you and you would prefer a lunchtime chat, for example, please let us know and we will see what we can arrange in addition to the existing timeslot.
Prayer Request Thank you.
Thanks to those of you who responded to the request for prayers for Biddy Adami. She is still receiving dialysis and the results should be known by today. We will keep you informed. Please keep the prayers coming.
Congratulations to Matthew and Ashleigh Mutch
I promised you a photo of the new baby so congratulations again to Matthew and Ashleigh Mutch on the arrival of Victoria Grace on 13 August. Proud mom and dad just couldn’t resist crashing the photo!
