Blessed Sacrament Weekly News

Good Morning,

Catechism Classes Catechism classes have resumed, although still only remotely. We are looking at introducing Zoom lessons and will keep you informed. We take the opportunity again to thank the teachers concerned for their dedication in providing this most important formation for the children of the parish. Please note that we will continue to prepare the Grade 3’s and 4’s for the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion so that they can receive them as soon as it becomes possible.

“Zoom Chat” Our first “Zoomchat” evening was a lot of fun, albeit with only a few participants. It was wonderful to make visual contact with some familiar faces and enjoy a glass of wine together. We will continue with this every second week for the time being and encourage more of you to join in. Please message me and I will send you the Zoom link. Thursday evenings 7.30 to 8pm. Find out more.

July Birthdays Happy birthday to all those celebrating in July. See the birthday list.

Condolences We were saddened to hear of the sudden death of Peter McKenzie on Thursday night. As a seasoned mechanic, Peter and his son, James, have been looking after the parish vehicles as well as those of some of the parish staff for a few years now. His cheerful and helpful demeanor will be sorely missed. We extend our sincere condolences to James and the rest of Peter’s family.

Please also remember in your prayers the family of Bishop Sylvester, whose brother-in-law, Leo, died last week. May his soul rest in peace.

God Bless and stay safe. Dc Mike & the team
